One in five Americans has some mental illness, with the highest proportion of mentally ill being young adults. However, only 45 percent of people who have a mental illness get the treatment they need, meaning that millions of Americans don’t get the help they unquestionably deserve. [1]

At Transformations Treatment Center, we work intensively with our clients, providing you with customized programs that are suited to fit your individual needs. Located in Delray Beach, Florida, we offer an array of treatment options for individuals with mental illness. We also work with many insurance programs—including Magellan Mental Health Rehab—to ensure that treatment is accessible and affordable.

About Magellan Health Insurance

Magellan Health Insurance has operated in behavioral healthcare since the 1960s. The company started as a behavioral healthcare center before transitioning to insurance, where it now covers the healthcare of more than 20 million Americans.[2] Magellan offers plans for individuals, employers, and government employees.

As one of the leaders in behavioral health care, Magellan is involved in much more than treatment. It offers coverage for assessment, wellness, and complementary healthcare services. This is one of the reasons that Transformations Treatment Center has chosen to contract with Magellan to cover many of our healthcare needs. Your treatment can be covered if you have Magellan Mental Health Rehab coverage.

As part of your behavioral health treatment, you’ll need to verify your mental health coverage, which you can do on our website or by calling 1-800-270-4315.

Verify Your Magellan Mental Health Rehab Coverage

If you have Magellan health insurance, Transformations Treatment Center will work with Magellan to cover the cost of your care.

One of the most critical things you can do before enrolling in Transformations Treatment Center is to verify your insurance. Verification will also give you more details about your plan, what it covers, and what other benefits you may qualify for. Verification can also make exchanging information easier for other medical professionals you work with. Since Magellan is a behavioral health expert, the company may be able to work with you to coordinate other forms of care, like medication management, that you may need.

You can verify your Magellan mental health rehab insurance in three ways:

  1. Visit our verification tool and fill out the very brief form. This process won’t take more than a minute. Once you do, a team member will contact you to complete the process and start your next steps.
  2. Call us at 1-800-270-4315. You will connect with a team member who will start the insurance verification process.
  3. Connect with your employer or Magellan. A Magellan staff member will discuss your benefits, confirm treatment eligibility, and work with us to enroll you in our treatment.

Remember that the insurance verification process is necessary to get a better idea of what your plan covers. While Transformations Treatment Center does accept Magellan insurance, different plans have different financial obligations and limitations. Verification will tell you how much you may have to pay out of pocket, what deductibles you must meet, and what limitations may exist on your coverage.

Insurance Verification

What Mental Health Treatments Are Covered by Magellan Mental Health Rehab Insurance?

Once you verify your insurance, you can begin the admissions process with Transformations Treatment Center. As part of this process, our medical professionals will work with you to design a customized treatment plan that addresses your specific needs and determines how to treat your mental illness best. This can include enrolling in any of the following services:

  • Inpatient Care: Some people require therapy that ensures they are monitored 24/7. Inpatient care allows an individual to live at our facility temporarily. Doing so ensures that they are monitored for their safety. At the same time, inpatient care enables individuals to take full advantage of the various amenities at our facility while also receiving intensive mental health care. Fortunately, inpatient care is meant to be temporary. It can help stabilize a patient, allowing them to move through our continuum of care while they are treated for their mental illness.
  • Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP): This program bridges the gap between inpatient and outpatient treatment, allowing individuals to receive intensive treatment but return home. Depending on the specific circumstances of a stay, a person may be able to resume normal activities or even receive some services via telehealth. PHP does not require the same intensive care and monitoring as inpatient care.
  • Intensive Outpatient Therapy (IOP): IOP provides regular appointments with therapists and physicians and allows clients to access other forms of therapy available at our facility. Patients are free to resume the normal activities of their lives.
  • Outpatient Care: This kind of care is standard for any individual who needs regular check-ins with a mental health professional or group therapy. We offer various outpatient services, including individual therapy, group therapy, and more.
  • Alumni Care: We offer numerous group programs that enable clients to utilize peer-to-peer support. This care can be used by clients who are in recovery from some specific mental illness, such as depression or anxiety. We also offer a group therapy program called Help for Our Heroes. This program helps individuals in high-risk professions, including military veterans and first responders, who often benefit from speaking with peers in a facilitated and therapeutic environment.
  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR): This cutting-edge treatment helps people with PTSD or other forms of trauma. It follows a set process that involves eye movement, enabling individuals to access, reprocess, and reassociate these traumatic memories.
  • Neurotherapy: This is a more advanced form of biofeedback. Individuals are provided with a brain map and can use that map to discover unwanted thought processes. From there, trained therapists help the clients better learn more to develop the coping skills necessary to manage their mental illness and advance beyond it.
  • Adventure therapy – Evolve Wellness Program: Our adventure therapy takes full advantage of the great outdoors, combining exercise, time in nature, and the therapeutic process. We will take our clients on numerous outdoor activities, including hiking, rafting, paddle boarding, and more.

These treatments can be deployed to battle many types of mental illness, including depression and mood-related disorders, stress disorders, anxiety disorders, and personality disorders. Our years of experience have taught us that mental illness never just impacts the individual; it also affects the family. By supporting the family and giving them access to therapy, we believe we can help all impacted individuals recover. That’s why we offer family outreach services, a family community group, and other family services.

We also know that the journey to defeat mental illness is a lifelong one. As part of our recovery process, we invite our clients to enter an alumni program upon graduating. This program enables individuals to spend time socializing and supporting other like-minded people who have faced down their mental health challenges.

An Emphasis on Telehealth

Telehealth has become common in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, which forced many people to stay physically apart for extended periods. Many clients prefer telehealth, as it allows them to receive the mental health care they need from the comfort of their own homes. Telehealth is extremely convenient, can help protect confidentiality, and may make it easier for clients to stick to a treatment regimen.

Magellan has worked in telehealth for more than nine years. In fact, according to Magellan’s own survey data, more than 88 percent of patients prefer telehealth to inpatient care. [3]

As such, Transformations Treatment Center works with telehealth whenever possible. To be clear, telehealth may not be applicable for some of our programs, including inpatient therapy. However, as patients work their way through our patient continuum, it may be more beneficial for them to receive telehealth instead of in-person care. Magellan does cover telehealth appointments, and Transformations Treatment Center works to make these appointments a reality whenever possible.

As always, your eligibility for telehealth services depends on your treatment plan and the specifics of your insurance coverage. You can discuss your telehealth eligibility with your care team. You’ll also need to verify your insurance (via our website or by calling 1-800-270-4315) to confirm eligibility.
