Alyea received an MS in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University in 2010. She has worked with many different populations as a behavioral specialist, developmental specialist, life skills educator and mental health therapist for the past seven years. Throughout her career, she has focused on and specialized in: substance abuse, trauma, anxiety, low self-esteem, anger management, inner child work and personality disorders such as borderline personality disorder.
Alyea’s therapeutic approach is versatile with a combination of motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, DBT and inner child. Alyea has attended many training sessions to enhance her skills such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy training and is trained in EMDR (eye movement desensitization reprocessing). She works with clients to help them identify and remove barriers in their lives which hold them back.
